Hello all, my 1st post.

I'm after a 306 GTI6 and I was wondering what is the average price for one of these babies. I've seen one for sale in VIC for around $23,990. Is that a good price or do u reckon you can get them for a little less??

depends if you want a good car or a mediocre to bad car
it's all in what you pay is what you get
you can get a GTi-6 fot $20k but you may wish you got the one you saw for say $28k

tell you what you find a 406SV manual and i'll swap you :D

they are selling for around the same $$$$

BW205:
I just recently got one ...23k to 28k sounds about right for a N5 GTi-6 Cheers Billy
Depends on the options ... some had semi-leather interior and sunroofs. And the kms. But a lot go for the $25K mark.

they either had semi-leather or full leather
not a lot of people optioned up though
late 98 onwards had the roof option
and there was the metallic/pearlescant option

i got the diablo pearled option and the standard 1/2 leather
i wanted a roof but there were none pencilled for aus till late 98 unless you wanted an after market roof fitted

I got mine for $25,000 12/98 manufacture date, full service history, blaze yellow, 46,000k's, half leather, sunroof, meticulously maintained, roof racks, I love it! I bought mine about 5 weeks ago and when I was looking there was a white one with virtually the same description in Melbourne and the guy would take $24,000. I'm in Sydney so I went for the local one. I found the white one at carsales.com or drive.com.

Depending on the condition and how fussy you want to be with the car you are buying anything from $19,000 to $28,000 would be your guide. And price isnt always the indication how good each GTi is.

check out redbook.com.au for approximate kms each units should have done.

I sold mine for ...err. cheap compared to what the guys above said, but then again its mates rates to my best friend what the dealer would have paid (ie redbook trade-in price).

2000 model from Redbook - less for higher kms and pre-2000 models.

I had a 2000 model, my ex has it now. Only 40 odd were sold in that year, so they're very rare. Most you will see asking for high $20s and will be in top condition with below average kilometeres. I'd recommend getting it checked out by a good mechanic that knows Pugs. Extensive service history is a must.
