505 SRDT clutch replacement

Petrol push rod engines have a bush, I'd be pretty sure the Diesel would be the same. The later Douvrin OHC engines use a bearing.

Hi Steve.

So you have a 215 clutch plate? If so must be an early TD.

Clutch forks break where the ball rests. You put grease or copper grease. You will be able to tell if no good!!

That’s correct what Graham said a brass bush

No, it's a 235 measured on the pressure plate. The friction plate measures 228. Identical to what came out. Its an 1985 2.3TD

Thanks, I thought it was a bush, but if a bearing I was worried as it doesn't turn...! (going blind, by feel)

Ok so you can run either a 228 or 235 like the 2.5td. Someone here will buy the 215 off you I’m sure.

Yes but don’t get too carried away. I can flick onto the clutch plate and cause slipping. Speaking from experience.
