I have a 504 TI head (or three) that is in a pretty bad way. Overheated and the section between the valves has broken entirely off on one cylinder. What is the general opinion about re-conditioning the head? And where in Melbourne would one have it done?

I'd be looking for a replacement that requires less work instead, ade. You can spend a fair bit of money on a bad head and still find it gives up the ghost at the first sign of stress. Should be someone on the board with something to offer.

If you want to get it checked out then Dave at French Connection would probably be able to give you some good advice. http://www.french-connection.com.au/main.htm

I got a new (spare) head for my 404 Injection KF2 from the Musée Peugeot last year. It cost me 220 Euros or thereabouts (not includig shipping). Go onto the French Peugeot Avenue website and link to the "service pièces" and ask them whether they have 504 TI heads for sale. You may be pleasantly surprised...

I happen to have a 504Ti head that is is Ok condition - sounds better than the one you have, although I was recommended to have some corrosion filled when I took it off after a blown head gasket - this is repairable and most 504 heads I've seen have some corrosion.

Respond here or send me an e-mail.

504 Ti cylinder head for sale - fair condition. It has some corrosion around some of the water channels which can be welded/filled. Valves OK. Removed it due to leaking gasket and then I found a better one and decided to spend the money on a full head recondition on the better unit. Best offer. Canberra if you want to look, or can send it freight.
