Hi , has anyone solved why a D9 406 petrol V6 wont start when hot ?

How long is a piece of string? Some things to consider-
Fuel problem, like a lock,
Crankshaft sensor,
Starter brushes/commutator
Aged battery

Do you have OBD codes or any other symptoms to help pin it down?

Old engine has alloy inlet manifold, ES9J4S has a plastic inlet manifold. Engine cover is different as well.

Engine type is part of the VIN number. What is the VIN?

Aside from the possible electronic issues due to heat soak, the fuel pump could be failing. Perhaps, check the fuel pressure when cold vs hot?

The older v6 engine ecus had a well known issue with heat soak into the ecu easy to diagnose just drop a couple of ice packs near the ecu when it won’t start wait a couple of minutes it should start also the multi plugs in the engine ecu box and the coil one under the engine cover can both have heat issues

was the solution some heat paste, or larger heat sink?

I like the diagnostic method, beats taking the ECU out and throwing into a freezer!!
