405 gear knob options

I'm looking to replace the gear knob as mine disintegrated, as they all seem to do. I actually fitted it brand new around 10 years ago (gosh have I really had the car that long?) which I bought from EAI. They no longer stock many 405 parts.

Been searching high and low but haven't found one on ebay or from overseas suppliers.

Tried sending an email to Pugwreck, then left a voice message but never heard back.

Is there a particular aftermarket one that will fit? I know they have a non-standard way of attaching which limits the options.

Or does someone have one lying around they no longer want?

Oh, I should mention it's for a 405 SRI Series 2.

You can buy after market 205/405/505 gearknobs from china for $20 odd I’ve brought one and they seem to be ok. There not round like a 405 but will work

My 405 had a super cheap auto after-market knob that was held on by two set screws It was quite heavy which is a good thing it helps smooth the gear changes with a bit of weight, I drove it 15 years like that until a blown head gasket cracked radiator, no available parts and 500k kms. The gear knob is now on my Hilux. I then swapped the engine for a 307, still prefer the 405 but it was getting too hard and expensive to repair.
