My '99 #06 XSi turned 60k and it looks great, if I do say so myself.

I love it. It's fun and the right balance of everything.
I really hope they come to be appreciated for being one of the last old school Peugeots before the 206 era began.

beautiful! I miss my xsi greatly. It had 270000 on it so yours has a plenty of life in it. They are brilliant cars.

I still find myself doing the occasional search in the classifieds for another!

@qvik your car truly is anxiety inducing beautiful.
My XSi is 25 years old this month (build April 1998), 189k, with cracked and absent clear coat and a smattering of car park dents and scratches. Every time I start making bodywork plans some twit whacks it again with a shopping trolley or car door. I LOVE it being my daily driver 😁 and have accepted that being worthless from an insurance POV I’m going to keep it running well and enjoy driving it without being precious about the bodywork. There is a risk that at some point I drink too many cups of coffee and inflict upon my car a custom paint job... 🙈

I had exactly those thoughts. I even got my local body shop if they would help do a sympathetic (i.e cheap if I helped with prep) resto on the paint. Nearly went through with it until I realised I have zero time and I really should be spending time with the kids while they still think I'm cool.

I really hope so. I'm actually always nervous about driving it, because one bingle and it's over. Insurance just want to write it off.
Shannon's will insure it to a value you feel comfortable with. Probably cost more than you're comfortable with though!

How's the interior of your xsi holding up. Mine was ok apart from the driver's seat splitting on the bolster stitching and the usual door card fabric sagging. Was perfectly acceptable for a 22 year old car.

Interior-wise the foam backing layer on the velour upholstery has degraded so door card fabric is sagging. Seats suffer the same though rear seat rarely gets used and I’ve got sheepskin covers in front to protect the original. No stitching splits yet.
Minor bubbles in the valley along the dashboard windscreen vents.
I think it’s surprisingly good for having been rarely garaged.
