Anyone know the code for a Purflux oil filter to suit a 2001 206Gti?
I'd continue to wait for the Purflux site to upload but can't be bothered with the World Wide Wait it puts me through.
I was told by a "specialist" yesterday that it could be a cartridge type as per Mercedes.
I've never seen anything like this before on Pug motors. I think he might be telling porkies...
The one on the car is a spin on Purflux but I can't read the code on it.

The online <a href="http://www.filtrauto.com/pcatuk.html" target="_blank">catalogue</a> states an "LS923" for the 206 with a 2.0L 16v motor. There is no separate listing for the GTi itself. It is just a standard spin-on oil filter like most cars.

Simon.

Thanks SLC,

I am still a bit confused though. I bought a replacement at my usual french car repairer and got given an LS304 rather than the LS923.
The one I took off the car was an LS923 with Pug Lion on it as it was serviced at a Brisbane Pug dealer last time.
I put the LS304 on as it is the same size. I just wonder what are the differences between the two?
I will ring the repair shop tommorrow to find out before we do any miles in the car.
Maybe the LS304 is just the Purflux replacement and the 923 is the dealer replacement?
Dunno...
IB.

thanks you blokes,

I'll finish my own thread for the sake of it.

The LS923 is discontinued as a number and the new filter for the 206gti (2001) is the LS304.

Bloody confusing.

The 504 runs the LS152B and has done forever. No need to change the numbering at all.
Anyway, now I can drive the car again knowing that the right filter is on it.

IB :D
