Hi all,
THis is just information.. but here goes.
Last night, driving home across the harbour bridge, paid my toll and accelerated away from the gates.
THE CLUTCH STARTED SLIPPING!!!!!!!!!!!
ARgh!!! brand new, what else could go wrong....
Anyhow, I limped to Leichhardt (Norton St Plaza) and start fiddling with the clutch fork.. so I take off the air flow meter, and the all the pipes. WHAT DO I SEE!!!
A Gearbox mounting bolt sticking it's head out 2cm and resting against the clutch's thrustbearing pivot fork!!! no wonder the clutch was slipping.. it was 1/2 engaging the clutch (or releasing.. however you want to look at it)...
So after 40 min of 1/10 of a millimetre of a turn each time, I've got the bolt back in and the clutch is fine...
What scared me is my friend and I torqued up all the bolts EACH!!! how did we miss it? or how did it come undone?
Moral?? SUPERGLUE THE FLIPPING BOLTS IN!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to monitor and I''ll keep ya posted
