I took my 205 s2 onto the freeway today and the speedo started wobbling all over the place and then plummeted down to nothing - dead as a door nail.

How can one fix this? Is it easy to do? And whats the comparative cost likely to be by doing it myself vs taking it back to the dealer. Seems awful dodgy tampering with that plastic shield...

On a unrelated note - what does a brake pedal that sounds like air is escaping when pumped indicate? Front pads were recently removed. Im hoping its not brake cylinder related.

And one more question as i become more intimate with my new car - is it normal for the oil pressure level, (top left corner) to jump all over the place when driving?

Help appreciated...

HI Mark,

Speedo cable needs replacing its quite an easy fix if your mechanical minded.

Brake problem sounds like air getting into system or it is already in system.

Get all check under your warranty if you can?
