Hey guys i got my car back from the mechanic after the master cylinder (MC) reservoir seals were leaking. 2 weeks later (with an AF cruise in between) i was driving in the morning... hadn't yet breaked and came to a small intersection and found my foot going to the floor. Pedal was very light. I lifted off and it grabbed when i reapplied. It was a very cold morning. It felt like my calipers were glazed in ice. That was at the start of the week, now its friday and it's only happened maybe once again since. I'm not sure about the second time as i lifted off very quickly and then it was fine.
My mechanic reckons it must be the MC. Extra info: 205 Gti '90 model (no power steering/power) 260,000kms.
