205 Gti club car

Done!!!!

So i have a running car, that moves forward and backwards and stops!!

Its very interesting in this project how many small tasks and upgrades still need to be done.

The standard gearbox is still in it and the close ratio LSD box is finished but still on the workbench. But at least we are close.

Also the full rear end needs but the roll bar and uprated torsion bars fitted.

It has taken a while!!!! Will post pics up on Sunday.
 
Ahh nice. silly question what are those wheels from? im currently looking at a 205 with those wheels just couldn't put my finger on what model they were off
 
Driving around and on to the trailer under it's own power!

Whats the combined weight (there abouts) of your 205 and trailer?

Trailer is 380kgs
Car is 800kgs
Fuel Drums x 2 - 42kgs
Tyre Rack - 20kgs
4 tyres - 60kgs
Tools etc 50kgs

Total - 1352kgs

Trailer has 2t axles and is rated at 1500kgs
407 Hdi has a 1800kg towbar and is rated to 1500kgs towing
We rechipped the Hdi to 120kw and 370 nms. Tows like a train.
Still getting 10L / 100km towing.
 
Thats a very nifty setup right there. I love the idea or single axle trailers for 205s. Sooooo much easier.

Trailer was specifically bought and remanufactured to take the 205 (Cut down in length). Its a tiliting trailer as well which saves carrying ramps.

Single axle is so much easier to move around home and bloody handy for trips to the hardware store and other activities.

That is a great set up.

Can i ask you some more details about re chipping your Hdi? What chip, how easy? The Mrs has a 207 Hdi...

Car is down in Canberra getting final fabrication done, big massive thanks to Adrian W, for rebuilding the box in double quick time!!!!

The 407 looks cool. I reckon you should be racing that!
