These cars are very rare in Australia - Personal import 1987.
Has a 1.9GTi motor with 1.6 gearbox.

I love this car but must sell to fund more work on my 205-Mi16.

Hi Pugjet,
I did some searching around when I first bought the car and found a few places that sold replacement roofs. The other option of course would be to get an Australian place to recover the existing one. Also note that the back window is a separate piece that zips out so would be easy to fix or replace.

There are different quality hoods available. One of the best places I found was Autohoods in the UK and although there are cheaper versions, they quoted be 440 pounds including delivery to Australia for their top quality one.

Steve this car is grouse. Good pics. Seems all too hard being in Melbourne though. Does it have air-con? I would guess not. Which engine is it, the 74 kw thing?

Hi Warwick,
I'm not sure exactly which 1.9 motor it is - I think the standard S1 or S2 Australian GTi motor. No aircon - although haven't found this a problem other than a couple of very hot days in Perth - and boy it gets hot here  The roof is manual but very easy to get up and down. I can unlatch and put it down without even leaving the driver's seat.

Getting it to Melbourne - easy - just a short road trip away. My WRX Sti got sold to someone in sydney and it was quite cost effective to send across - around $600 covered road and insured. We decided to drive the CTi from Sydney to Perth for the fun of it and it was a great trip.

PRICE DROP TO : $8,000 ONO

Unique Convertible 205 GTI 1.9 (CTi)

I have had good interest but haven't sold the car yet. I'm going to need the funds to finish off my 205-Mi16 so from today, I am dropping the Price to $8,000 ONO and am going to advertise in the Autotrader etc.

This car is going to make someone very happy dance Be quick.. :D

Cheers
Steve

What's wrong with it Steve, roadworthy wise, What is there to spend? Tyres, windscreen, oil leaks etc etc

Hi Warwick,
No oil leaks that I know of. By windscreen do you mean getting a new rear plastic window? I haven't priced this but wouldn't imagine it would be too difficult to get a replacement made as it zips out easily. Tyres are okay but getting a little old ie they have reasonable tread but I think they've been on the car for quite a while.

It's a great car but I have to pay for the 205-Mi16 development somehow :)

Cheers
Steve

Do you know Inchcape brought two of these cars to Australia when they were considering importing them years ago. Dunno where they ended up, probably left for New Zealand, which was where they sent the non ADR evaluation models.

Got to pay the bill for the 205-Mi16 mods shortly wink Surely someone has a home for this great car?

Cheers
Steve
