Hello,
I have a Peugeot 206cc 2006. It cranks but it won’t turn over. Then l will go back a day later and it will start then l will go somewhere and it won’t start. Starter motor, coil replaced a couple of years ago. Called mobile mechanic he said it might be the immobiliser or crank but then why will it still start sometimes?
What might it be?

Welcome to the forum.

There are many causes for non-starts beside immobilisers, so you really need to get the OBD codes read.

I am guessing by crank you mean the crankshaft position sensor. That is a possible cause.

Thank you. The mechanic had a diagnostic machine and said they were the error codes but he wasn’t sure as the car was to old for his machine. Yes l believe that’s right the crankshaft position sensor. If it is this do you know how much it might cost to fix?

If you have a second key, try that. Could be an intermittent fault that immobilizes the system.
