R8 1100 Extractors and Inlet Manofold WTB

Those Sonic extractors were a reasonable design given the constraints of where they had to fit and still fit a muffler in the original position. I would be happy enough to go with them, but I think your cam needs to be toned down a little to make the car a better thing to drive for 90% of the time.

Quite possibly Alan, but for a car that has done 9000km in 10 yrs, I think I can put up with it to enjoy the 10% the engine was built for!

It's on club rego, so sticking with the Sierra engine format was important to fit in with NSW "period modifications" rule so it's about making what I have work rather than what would be the absolute best.
For that same reason, the car is only going to come out of the garage for club events of one kind or another and I still have one or two other standard renaults that I can choose to take according to what type of event it is.

The next car may have the A3 - both yourself and Dave C have recommended that Cam incidently, but I'll take note of your own signature for the time being. Dave did say he wouldn't put another A6 in a road car again, but I was trying to match the specs of an engine he built for a customer 12-15yrs ago. With the change in Manifold and the 45DCOE it really isn't that bad to drive anymore.

Now I need to get back to getting the twin manifold happening!

I'll wait for Frans' calculations to see whether I get a custom exhaust fabricated or whack the extractors on later.

Would like to find a set of extractors like that for my 65 R8 w/ 1100 also. I'm in the USA. Does anyone sell them?

Tommy,

You may find that hard (like the Original poster). In Aust. there used to be at least two companies making them (Lynx and Sonic) but both seem to have stopped making them. In your case I would recommend you speak to Jacques at his rear-engineed renault spares business to see what the current US situation is like. I'd doubt you'd have much luck for new ones here in Aust. either.

Thanks. I just ordered some parts from Jacques a few weeks ago. Didn't think of asking about performance goodies. I will next time.

Depending on what you want, Alpine America http://www.alpine-america.qc.ca/ (Mecaparts representative for the States) has something that may be suitable from the Autobleu range. Look at part number AB1435 on the Autobleu site below.

It is also listed in the Alpine America parts catalogue as MP1435

This nice piece of work looks like it's for R12 powered R8/R10's ! I like it :approve:

I will do it tonight.

KB,

The specs I posted last week is correct. The reason for that is the degrees of the exhaust valve that goes into the formula (94 deg BBDC) has remained the same in both the old and new specs.
You can go with them but ignore the Camprofile PDF.
