D-Jetronic Bosch

Are you winning with this? What did you decide to do with the Aux air valve?

If you want to change the injector basket filters and pintle caps, I have a supply of the correct D-Jet caps with a snout instead of the generic hole in the end. pm me if you want a set.

IMG_2650.jpgI'm still going with this project because the air control valve I ordered from Citroworld arrived but didn't work and was full of dirt, so I have sent it back. Probably another 4 weeks turn around post etc.

For what its worth this is what I have done with mine! I have discarded the expensive unreliable supplementary air valve.I have replaced it with a 3/8in ball valve ($5 from the local hardware). This I have placed discreetly under the dash and I operate it like a choke in a carby car.It operates with a gentle hissing sound as it breathes alcohol enriched air from the cabin .No more problems

Ive got older waiting for Citroworld to return a reconditioned part, so I did a basic bypass so I could get the car started and running. Idle is rough but freeway run seemed ok. However this first run since an engine rebuild there is engine oil fraying around the engine bay!!
Can't see where the oil is coming from, only seems to be occurring during running.
oil is high up on the passenger side (lhs) of the block.

Any ideas where to look? Oil presure sensor or filter in this location?

Oil, LHM or auto fluid??? Could be various sources if the fan is pushing it around.
It will not be the filter, as it's inside the sump. Oil sender is on LHS of block, but not up high.
Check the rocker cover securing nuts (under the EFI manifold though).
A cam oil leak is possible, but you'd really hope not. Look around the distributor and its tower.
Transmission oil cooler is on the LHS, down very low, but will have a good stream of air going past it.

Should have an air filter on it 'tho.

Before you tear your hair out with all the injection stuff. How you compression tested and done a leakdown test on the rebuilt motor

Adrian,
You don't need to use the original aux air reg. There is a generic type (Holden or something) which rather than using coolant uses heat soak from the engine. They are a fraction of the cost of a genuine unit. Find a local fuel injection specialist and they should be able to help.
Just split the old unit in half and plate it. IIRC the temp gauge sender fits in the unit so you can fit a temp gauge at the same time.
Cheers,

Mark...:)

I'm still waiting for Citroworld !!! they took my money, sent me a part that doesn't work and now they don't respond to my emails. Can I recommend them - keep well away!

Over the past few years I've found Geert at Citroworld very helpful and honourable about the few problems that arose. A couple of items have not been great, but that's a repro issue and the same part would have been so-so from any other supplier. I'm sure I've bought 'junk' DS repro from every vendor at some point.

I'm sure there will be an explanation. Over what time frame are you expecting a reply. A few days or is it weeks now? He could be away or just trying to sort out the problem before replying. Try sending a fresh e-mail in case the previous one has ended up in a spam filter for some reason, like too many quoted earlier messages looking like junk. Maybe his replies have been caught by your incoming spam filter? I have to regularly keep an eye on what one particular e-mail account I use has captured as spam.

I had a similar problem with parts ordered from Citroworld which turned out to be a freight issue. When I managed to get hold of Geert he was more than helpful in getting the problem fixed. I'd stick with it.
