I'd be wanting to know about the body, not the mechanicals. Caravelle engine etc is standard stuff and easy. Bodywork fittings and structural rust are the $$$$ issues.

I went to have a look. It has advanced rust in all panels, with some holes you can put your fist through. There was really nothing worth salvaging.

I definitely could do with the parts so I'm not sad, but the owner needs to realise its real value. Thanks @robindubow

No surprises then. Fittings for hardtops etc are precious and rare, and door fittings and glass are sought after by some restorers though.

The truth can hurt. Our Caravelle in Kenya had rust holes through the front cross-member and no metal in the front wheel arches for about 300 mm up (the bitumen spray-on compound had just nothing behind it). Eek.
