ASV92F - Anyone know this car?

Haakon,

if your looking at Saabs.... this sucker would have to be a winner. It's at the Poogoe place in melbourne that I bought the 407 from (there real "car poeple" as much as they are motor dealers).

if I was in the market for a Saab, I wouldn't bother looking any further:

checkout the gueniune milage it's done from new!

seeya,

PS: You better be quick, MistaRenault will probably be in there test driving it tomorrow :roflmao:

Yeah, Kirsty drove it when she was last in Melbourne. Complained all the Saabs she drove afterwards were gutless!!! Wonder why? It was remarkably shabby for such low kms though.

What lets it down is that interior. The seats seem to have taken on a "dirty" look. It might clean off though (I imagine it's that fake leather stuff). The bit on the outside that makes you think "shabby" is the very visible crack in the lower edge of the windscreen.

Still I wouldn't look any further than that one :) It's a griffin that's barely run in!

a lot of car for the money . the early ones had torque steer under full throttle that was fixed on the ph2's but for 10k or less whos that picky . looks like a good deal if its got some history and the major service has been done properly

[ note my son bought a 172 with the major belt service done by dodgy brothers service centre and it had to be redone properly by a renault specialist ]

I reckon spend not a lot extra and get a Cup version with switchable traction control, Brembo front brakes...

All the RS225 Meganes had Brembo front brakes. The later ones had Brembos also on the back. I humbly submit the sole purpose of the change was for marketing purposes.

Looks like I'll be swinging through Sydney before these guys shut tomorrow - want the full report on it?

That would be great

If you could give it look over that would be great. The mechanicals i can sort (unleinIss it's something major) but i'm really interested in the cosmetics and condition. Tyre and windscreen nick would be good to.

Thanks heaps. I owe you one.

Easy done. I'll be happy to not drive it ($2000 excess on their insurance, plus they're still a bit shitty with me because I didnt want to pay full whack for their Saab).

But I'll take stacks of photos and start it up. And tell you if it's ever been in a panel shop.

Plus theyre convenient to a major line of tollways I'll be taking advantage of in my new megane with no number plates on it :)

PM me your email address Richard - have craploads of piccies.

Is not perfect and some things that need sorting but could be decent car for the right dollars.

Have just got in from two bloody long days of driving, so I'll send the photos tomorrow night and write up my findings then too.

Tonight its a bowl of soup, a glass of scotch and an early night!!!

Cool, will do, thanks for that. I'll PM the email address now.

Regards,

Richard

PS - I already know the wheels are shagged.:roflmao:

Budget tyres, rear brakes and coils as well.

Let me know if those emails came through last night Richard - might have overcooked size limits on your server with the photos...

Yeah, sorry, just got home and renaultnet.org has been hacked. Trying to clean up the mess now:mad::mad::mad:.

Thanks for taking so many pics.

I am still thinking about it as it's probably not bad buying for the money, but it just doesn't look all that well cared for.

I know what I'm like, I'd start spending money on that, and then end up with two Renault money pits...

Thanks again.

Yeah, it's certainly not been loved by an enthusiast, and that bolt stuck in a pipe for the coolant blanking says a lot about the mechanic's attitude.

But it's not "completely" trashed so if it's cheap enough... I wouldn't pay what they're asking though.

Iphones make it easy to take pics - its a problem in itself as you end having to cull so bloody many. Just glad they came through ok, I was pushing file size limits!
