Originally reported as a battery explosion that caused the car to shoot backwards???? The real story is even worse what sort of dealer leaves a car ready that close to a balcony for display could have been an absolute disaster landing in the eatery below.

why was the key near the car so it could move that isn't any kids fault that is inside the car!

BYDs are started by
1. Having the "key" inside
2. Pressing the brake
3. Pressing the power button.

Presumably the young bloke was in the driver's seat and did just that. Why was the key not in the salesman's pocket?

A hands-free key doesn't have to be inside, just nearby I'd guess. It probably should have been placed in some sort of 'showroom mode' to be safely displayed.
