I'm thinking of buying a 406 sv auto and the timing belt, water pump etc was replaced in 2018 at 189K. It's now on 203K which is obviously only 14K since the change but it's 6 years (factory interval). The owner was told when he purchased the vehicle that a new higher spec belt was used that had a 10 year service life or 120k. I never heard of this and thought I'd have to stick with factory specs. Any thoughts/experience with this or thoughts on the on the necessity to change given the mileage since replacement?
