Old French cars certainly had the lounge chair ride nailed - not only old Cits but Pug 505s too. Even the 405 had soft wide seats. BUT... the fashion today, as mentioned time and time again by the journalists, is for something firm and moulded to hold your bum in place while you sweep down alpine pass bends (or Galston Gorge) at speed. Mobile lounge rooms are for yesterday's men. The same logic gives us minimal body roll and harder suspensions. The German saloon cars, not only Mercedes, all follow this sports car theory. Funny thing is that Faurecia, a French company, builds these bum numbing seats for the Germans too.

407 seats don't hold you in place... there hard flat and not great ...

This is a super comfy ... very soft, CX seat. See the huge bolsters that hold you in place around around corners.
