    Default Camshaft Drive

Does anyone know what this person is driving off the camshaft on this 750 ? Maybe a tacho drive or something ? Surely not some kind of variable camshaft timing device ?

    Hi,
Looks like a tacho drive to me. Similar to many contempory sports car types. It would have the longest drive cable known to man.

Certainly not anything like a variable camshaft device.

There are a few interesting things mounted on this engine. Oil filter, alloy beehive device? weber, good looking exhaust. (carby leak !)
    Cheers Jaahn

    Absolutely agree in everything.

Quite large looking primaries on those extractors for a little engine. I was thinking that tacho drive would be half engine speed driven off the cam, but maybe has a gear set in it perhaps to double the speed ?
    cheers,

The 'bee hive' device on the rocker cover ?? Anyone. The large capacity Fram oil filter would be a good addition, by the way what Renault 750/60 had a screw on filter?

Rev counter. That's how they did it originally on those engines.
