    Default 405 Mi16 Roll cage

    Hi all

Anyone know a rough estimate to get a roll cage put in a 405?

I have most of the interior out, so shouldn't be too hard (I hope)

Many ways to do it - but in the end similar costs

    Raw Steel $400
    Bends $400
Plates and acc $200+ approx 50 hours of your work

Or Buy a kit $1200 approx+50 hours your work

Or buy a kit and have it fitted $1200 + $2000 or so fitting+++

Or get the whole lot done $$3000 - 5000.00

Brown Davis here in Melbourne will do a basic CAMS compliant cage for well under $2000, particularly if you strip out the interior yourself.
Anything more than a basic cage is too dangerous to drive on the road without helmets and proper seats and belts.

Bends? CAMS and just about any motorsport authority will not allow the use of bends in the construction of a rollcage. IIRC all legs/sections are to be formed in one piece and 'bent' to obtain the necessary curves. This involves using a pipe bender to give a smooth and even surface.

Might be worth a trip over on the boat if I can't find anywhere reasonable down here...
