    Default MI16 - 8 Port manifold question

    Hello everyone...

Please excuse me if this sounds loopy, which it might as i'm still wired on pain med's from a knee op today.

With the 8 exhaust port mi16 head, do most people just make a extractor to cover both ports per chamber or do they make them individual ports that merge later?

If it's 4 covering all 8 do they make it like a standard port where the two valve seat opening blend into a single port?

If not wouldn't that effect the performance of the flow into the exhaust manifold?

again sorry if it doesn't make sense - i feel like i'm floating at the moment.

You make a collector which covers the two ports, the angle of which must be 6 to 9 degrees max. Then the four pipes join again in another collector.

You can buy a very tidy set of stainless extractors with 8 into 4 into 1 configuration from a crowd in Holland. I have a set on my 405, but they would clash with power steering on the 405 (mine was already gone).

They actually whistle a little bit, sounds almost like turbo'd on a trailing throttle at high engine revs. Can't comment on performance yet, haven't had it back on the dyno since they were fitted.

    Not that expensive either.

I always thought the mi16 had a really nice set of standard extractors, how much can you improve on them?
2011 Renault Koleos manual petrol, yes it's boring, but not as boring as:
