Default New gear stick knob installment

how hard isit to get the gearstick knob off the 205 gti.????
well ill tell you,we ended up cutting it off thats how hard they are to get off.
my old one split so it was new one time.
after trying unpteen different ways to get it off ,we cut it off the stick as it was knackered anyway.
the new one just has to be pushed on really hard to get it in the right place.
but the new ones have a decal on the top instead of the recessed numbers and shift pattern like the oe.
ive saved the old top bit am im going to repaint it and then see if it will go in place of the one thats there now.
the oe ones look much better.
new knob was 30 0dd dollars from reagans in hawthorn.
    so there ya go-BAZZ

I replaceed mine about two years ago.. the top shift-pattern panel had become chipped.

I just pulled like blazes and it popped off! Had no need to resort to your kinds of 'drastic measures'

We pulled and pulled and didnt want to break anything off so that was the best soloution as it was cracked and totaled anyway.
the new one just pooped on pretty well though.
the new ones dont have the recessed gear pattern or gear numbers but a decal showing shift patterns.
i tnink i like the original one better.

Does the 206 XT knob come off just by pulling hard to?

I looked at it for ages and i couldnt work how to get it off. I figured if you pull it to hard it might do damage to the gear box or something:s

Just remember to use lots of twisting in addition to the pulling
