    Default 505 diesel vacuum pump???

I just bought a series 2 505 diesel and have a question about the vac pump. It is the larger version pump and has an outlet on the top side that is marked "outlet" but mine has nothing hooked up to it. It works just fine as the inlet goes to the air filter and the other outlet port goes to the brakes and climate control. SO where is the "outlet" meant to go? If anyone has one of these cars, could you go and check and get back to me? Thanks!

    Default vac pump plumbing

It sounds like the same pump thats on my GTD. on mine, that rear fitting on the top housing (marked outlet) has a short hose on it that does a U turn and attatches to the fitting immediately below it. There isn't any hose going to the air filter on mine.

    hope this helps

    Default 505 vacuum pump ???

On the PRV6 pump this outlet is ported to atmosphere, being the non pressure side of the vac pump. If I recall the V6 pump had a split rubber cap on the outlet.

    Rambo,
The Volvo v6 B28e had them. The design of the later "log" manifold made for less vacuum for brakes etc. The vac pump and a reservoir below the engine made up for this.
