Default 205 GTi6 in NSW, engine number change or engineers cert?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Or make any recommendations to people they have used?

You tell them you've changed the engine therefore need a blueslip. This has to happen for standard engine swaps too so that the RTA/RMS have a log of the engine and chassis.
They do the standard checks, brake test etc.
You make sure they put the correct engine capacity on the papers.
    That's all.

Not a full Blue Slip, an Adjustment of Records is what's required.

But why bother? I know people who don't worry about changing the paper work. For example, if the car is insured as TPP only and worth less than a few thousand dollars, why bother?

Won't the insurance company go you if you injure someone or something?

500ish vs 1500ish. might make sense in a few years time yes, but not right now

    Ouch.
I cant see the value to you in paying 1/3 the value of the policy per year.
Imagine if you added a zero to the numbers, and insured a $50k car for $15,000 per year with a (guessing) $10,000 age excess.

Doesn't look so attractive when the numbers are doctored in that manner and you'd probably just do what I do, reduce the policy to 3rd party and drive defensively making certain you are never the at fault driver.

Why would you drive any differently on a public road depending on your type of insurance?

Just had a look, but I was under the impression that a decent omission of truth in your declaration (41% increase in power) would give them grounds not to pay out on your insurance.

I would be interested to hear if any examples of this happening or not happening...

    cheers

isnt that assuming that the result of the crash/incident was caused by speed, or a higher speed due to more power? or do they not look into it like that?

Don't know... I wasn't willing to chance it when I had a 205mi16. Went to the engineer and he sent me to Rta for engine number change. His responsibility for not a huge cost. Can't remember how much exactly because it was done through the mechanic.

You aren't in exactly the same position because you have gained engine volume....
