Default 205 GTi fuel pump replacement.

The fuel pump on my rally car died recently and the spare I bought a few months back turned out to be no good.
I can get the actual pump locally but how do I pull the holder unit apart to fit it?

Turns out this pump is also listed for VL Commodore and heaps of other cars, sounds very unlikely to me.

There are several different pump set ups. Si's are different to GTi models.

Post a picture and I may have one or show you how to pull it apart.

    It is for a GTi.
I managed to get the bottom filter housing off by being brutal and snapping the retaining ring.
I have a 505/VL Commodore pump and it may fit although the inlet tube will have to sawn off, the innards of the pump are in full view on the original.
I need a replacement organised by tomorrow.
Does anyone have one in Melbourne?

Maybe the clamp on the hose from the internal pump is loose, has anyone had this happen?

Is the 405 pump the same? Bosch part no-0580 464 038. Pretty sure when I checked that number it was the same as Commodore/505.

I have a spare working one & mounting bracket here I can lend you.

I have a 505 one, these are mounted by themselves as is the 405 I think?
The 205 has it mounted in a plastic cage which is inserted into the tank.
The fuel pressure is low but you can hear a noise from the pump/tank just after the pump is switched off, good chance it is fuel leaking past the hose connection.
Big RR I'll take a look at your postings.

Fixed, the replacement pump had a torn rubber hose but the old one was OK and I managed to fit the 505 pump. I opened up the bottom end of the pump with a hacksaw as per the original and this also made it short enough to fit. Hopefully the filter sleeve is sitting in about the right spot, as mentioned above I had to split it to get it off. The 505 pump does have a filter in its base as well. All a bit untidy so I would be happy to get another good complete pump.
    Thanks for the advice.
