    Default 505 radius arm fitment

    hi

re-fitting the radius arm, i'm not sure as to the correct position of the front metal plates.

mine were originally like this, with the concave side towards the front, but in haynes they seem to be the opposite way.
    what's correct?

Yes that is correct. Some 505's came with it reversed from new. Only for a year or so around the end of production. Gti's and GTD around 1986/87 here in Australia.
Either way is OK, reverse the washer for a tiny bit more firmness under brakes and cornering. That's all.

and what do you do if one of the washers is deformed? when tightening the nut it doesn't sit straight and smashes the rubber in one place.
