    Default 205 BE3 gear linkages

the linkages on my car seem to be slopy to say the least the gear lever bush is ok just seems the rods and maybe the bush on the subframe are knackered. can anyone recommend a one stop shop where i can buy uprated bushes and rods? not sure if i need them but ive heard that rose joint are a good way to go?

mine were at a stage where they were popping off by themselves, especially one near the exhaust, had to put that on a few times :/ replaced with genuine no slop and nice and tight.
The wrong oil is better than no oil at all.

i Know Baker bm and pugracing do uprated ones, i have considered std items but the quality doest seem top be there anymore. its dissapointing to buy geniune parts that are worse than aftermarket bits.

for example not long ago i bought a new geniune clutch cable, after fitting gearbox and testing it snapped first press. ended up putting old cable back for time being. the pissy little piece that is crimped onto the wire cable simpley pulled through and it all fell to piceces.

I've got some of Miles (Pug Racing) gear rods on the 405 & they have a circlip which prevents them from popping off. Well worth the price IMO.

    Ditto

Miles supplies reliable gear from my dealings with him.

These ball end with clip rods improved the shift 'feel' ( but I guess that could be my imagination )

If you are going to use stock then the ball joint near the exhaust needs the little heat shield put back on.

Peugeot put it there for a reason - stops the nylon cooking a perishing prematurely.

ended up getting some a set of 3 rods from miles, also grabbed a new ball and nut for subframe and some bushes for the L bracket and shifter. all up cost about $100

You need to do some work to the L bracket.

They are pressed together and work loose

Just need to weld the two.

Whilst you are there, cut 1 " out of the short arm.

heaps nicer with the shortened L bracket. Keeps the same side to side movement and just reduces the front to rear movement of the gear lever.

+1 for this mod from me. Makes a big improvement in the driving experience. I replaced all the rods with pug genuine items at the same time and no probs so far 3yrs later.
