    Default Another 504 alternator issue

    Hey all i am at th stage that i need to rewire my alternator but cant find my disassemble photos and drawing of the alternator that i made when taking it off, i have looked around on the net for info on this alternator or one alike, but still a little confused, can any body help, also the wire for the external cylinder thing (name escapes me at the moment) has come away from some where, i think it goes straight on the B+ but still not sure, any help would be great

    The noise suppression capacitor is connected between ground and main output (B+).

    It is installed to reduce the alternator "whine" (AC ripple superimposed on the DC o/p) being injected into ICE systems.

    From the images it's time to fit a new lug to the main charging lead as well.

    The value of capacitor is not critical, use a capacitor off an old distributor if the existing is dodgy.

    thats it, haha capacitor, on the tip of the tongue it was, yeah i think all the wires need new lugs, i may have to un wrap the harness abit to find out which is which but trying to avoid it if possible
