    Default iphone gizmos.

I just got my first iphone.

Didn't take long before I had a few apps for the car loaded onto it.
In observance to the new RTA rules I went and bought a comercialy designed and sold phone holder for the princely sum of $5. Its a total POS, but I have the reciept.

One of the apps i bought was 'Dynolicious', which is a hoot. $12 to buy which by apps standards is expensive, but I reckon I've wasted twice that much already on petrol, tyres and brakes playing around with it.

It gives you a 2D image of the gforce history as well as you peak acceleration, cornering and braking G's.
No surprise that the cornering G's of the fuego trump the other two.

Then there is a page that does a timed run for you (on private property of course ) and shows you your times at 10km increments.

Looks like if I use this device those fuego turbo acceleration times Simon posted are not so hard to beat after all.

Anyway, Its probably got its shortcomings, but for $12, a handy little gizmo.

Does anyone else have any cool apps worth mentioning???

i trust you know there is an app which will identify the song by the sound coming in the microphone?

I do know about that one, but thankfully my memory is still sharp enough to not need such an app.

I did dowload a tuner with a crude display of harmonics (overtones) which is prety cool, especially comparing an open trumpet to the sound produced by various mutes.
It makes teaching the students about tone a little easier.

    Bootylicious.
Download your boot in it as deep as it will go whenever you feel like it.
Works on any platform, any car. I run it on my special edition shitbox 205GTi and results in instant deranged grin, lost points, money and sound on one channel of the stereo.
    Cost zilch, priceless.
    ACHTUNG ALLES LOOKENPEEPERS

My idea of bootylicious and yours are vastly different.

Sygic MobileMaps - a great GPS app for driving in uncharted waters. You'll need a car charger though as all GPS apps are hungry - the phone will get red hot from the CPU running flat stick.

Pro HDR is a nice camera app I like.

F-Sim Shuttle - space shuttle flight simulator :-)

That is a different app by the same name, not fit for a car forum. Don't get them mixed or you might end up having to explain difficult things to the police.

Oz Weather. About $2 but MUCH better than the pre installed weather app

If you play with old vintage film cameras then Light Meter is indispensable.

    iTorch. Fantastic!

Trapster. Gps based, gives you moving map and current speed etc but the big one is people report known enforcement hotspots which it will warn you of, and if you see a radar/camera/accident etc you can hit the report button and that alert remains active for a set time then goes away.

aSmartHUD is a digital dashboard with speed, altitude, compass, average speed etc in it. Nice.

Witness is a sort of crash camera that has a certain cache size and records small segments in loop mode.

    TXT4Coffee...que jump with this one.
Participating cafes, order and pay through the app and it's waiting when you get there!

iFormulas...stuff for areas, volumes, all sorts of cool shit!
    Convert Units is good too!

    iTranslate is pretty good.

In Melbourne the Public Transport Victoria app is awesome!
Helped no end when I was up there a few weeks back...

Motion X-GPS, if you're into anything involving maps, charts, UTM, etc.

Cyclemeter, if you ride bikes and can't afford a dedicated GPS unit. It uploads your route to google maps.
