Default 205 gti Oil cooler hoses??

Hi all, the 205 blew an oil hose on the freeway yesterday. although the ensuing cloud of smoke and I oil was rather spectacular(!), i would now like to source some new hoses to ensure it doesn't ever happen again. (its the two that run from the engine to the oil cooler) has anyone had any luck with getting these? If not, i'm guessing the path is to get them re-made. If anyone has gone through this process it would be great to hear. Its a '87 S1 if it makes any difference.

Try mobs like ENZED and pirtek. or keep buying second hand ones wink wink
The wrong oil is better than no oil at all.

didnt think s1 had oil cooler? is it the hoses that go from top rad hose to the heat exchanger/oil cooler? like s3 ones? im pretty sure i have really good secondhand ones.

edit: i know the ones you mean now! brain was a little slow this morning i have some of those as well but would need to check condition if you end up sourcing secondhand items.

I've done a few. Cut off the original fittings and silver solder #10 fittings on the tubes. Use push on fittings & hose from Motorsport Connections. The hose is only sold by the metre. You need two 250mm hoses, so 1m will do two cars.

You also need to drill/bore out the back of the #10 steel fitting to match the OD of the steel 205 tubes. If you can find some one else who needs a set I'll make you some. I could do them on an exchange basis. Fitting the push-on #10 fittings to the hose is the easy part. It's a far cheaper solution than new original hoses.
