    Default be3 clutch fork differences

after inspecting all the bits and pieces in an attempt to make sure i get the clutch setup right on my 205 xu10 conversion i notice that the forks can be different. the length of the two fingers that push on the throw out brg are different lengths? anyone know more about this? will post up pics after work.

should mention its a xu10j4r motor with the xu10 flywheel i picked up from wreckers which i think is a 306 xt? the clutch and pressure plate are early mi16.

so which one is which? i had the slightly longer type in and it looked like the prongs where over centre. i realize when the fork is activated that the contact on the thrust bearing face changes. i guess i couls assemble with both setup and peek into hosing and see whats going on?

when i measured the two, the larger fork measures around 79mm and the shorter one around 74mm. pic doesnt show it as being much but they are definately different.

i have! that might explain the odd ratios i ended up with for 3rd 4th? remember 3rd was 1.27 and 4th 1.17.
i bought that gearbox from a friend in melb and he got it from adelaide. maybe an import? it was a be1 with later style clutch fork as pictured above. i have another be1 in the shed that came out of my late 92 model s3 it also has the later clutch fork setup.
