    Default 306 Front brakes

I am wondering if 306 brakes can be fitted straight onto a S1 205 gti (with the smaller hub) i planned to change the rotor and caliper frames to the bigger 306. but someone was telling me that i had to fit 16in wheels to fit them in. i currently have 306 15in fitted. figure if a 306 had 15in and the brakes fitted in them this wouldn't be a drama.

can this work easily or is there a bit of messing around?

Surely if the disc is on the same centreline, and that centreline fits inside a 306 with 15in rims, then the same disc on a 205 would also have the same centreline, with the caliper mounted at the same distance from the centreline, and so the same 15in wheel would fit on a 205 ???? phew.....

    Cheers

I have done that conversion on my 91 205 si with 13"dia wheels everything just bolted straight on and it was an improvement, at some stage I will also change over the mastercylinder because it is a larger diameter and will improve the brake response.
