    Default AFR Meters

What's everyone's favourite on this topic? I need to buy a new one as the my Innovate LC-1 went silly. It was fine while it was working but it's now putting out 7V continuously from the 0-5V output. I reflashed it once before to revive it but not this time. One thought was to buy locally, thus having support, eg something from Techedge.com.au or M&W. However, I used an NGK AFX Powerdex during the week and was very impressed. They're only approx US$250 on ebay.

As a sparky I've used all different types of meters, but for a general multi meter most of us in the trade use Fluke but as anything you get what you pay for.

I used the LC-1 with no probs and logged back to Link G3 but, my new LM-1 is the ducks guts. All it needs is a remote power supply not connected to the car. Dumb idea that, as one cannot crank the engine and log start mixture or give it a bootful sideways without the f###ing cig lighter socket jumping off power. It will log up to 32 channels if you set it up. I just used a small dry cell 12 volt and located it into the Innovate case. Sweet. Actually I'm so confident it speaks the truth I'm thinking of going to 7000 at 18 psi, in the 404 2.2 T.
Next engine it goes onto will be a 192 cu Red 6 in a race FJ. Luckily I have enough time to set up some channels to run it in the car logging map,iat before and after carbs, revs and mixture. Like it. I think the sd card is 4 gig so something like 80 mins.

This creates a problem; the usual answer is "Ask Peter T"...

Postage seems quite dear on the Powerdex.

    This one?
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-NGK-A...item3cc965b517

    around AUS$270 delivered

I've always used a remote supply with the LC-1 as the cig lighter in 205/405's can't supply enough current.

I'll have another go with the beta software.

Yes, that's it. I'm too bloody tired at the moment! The unit just plugged in and worked. It just needs a power source remote from the car.

I'm into the 8th week of an engine dyne set up at UQ. The job has entailed proving to disgruntled Engineers the degree of stupidity and rat cunning possessed and openly flaunted by, the egotistic fool himself.
Shall we refer to him as Houdini? Bloody good con man though. As all, successful illusionists are!
