Default Top Gear People Mover Racing

We here in Kiwiland had the joy of watching people mover racing on Top Gear last night. And what had a 1st/2nd? Espace of course. What a hoot! Shame about Monaco though. Where has the speed gone? Still on top, but not by as much.

Speed was there, but what happened to the tyres? Suddenly Renault was the only of the front runners to battle with tyres.
We will keep on hoping and trusting

tyres were due to lack of rear down force, so the car slides around more than the others. Alonso did a fantastic job keeping Montoya at bay, although he could have been more of a gentleman with Mark Webber. Deserving podium for webber though! he should have been second. Poor Fissy... that tool Truli can't drive.

The van race was last series of top gear. Which you can download most of the episodes from www.finalgear.com you will need bittorent clients ofcourse and broadband conection. Also new series of TG has just started, which can also be download from that site.

If there had been a wall where Weber passed (twice) Alonso would have been taken out big time! In neither time did Weber make it round the true corner, so how could the car he had forced his way inside of done so too?
I know Mark is an Aussie, so you have divided loyalties.
Interview with Lanfanchi once said that there should be sharpened railway irons pointing up the track on the most dangerous corners, then everyone would drive more carefully! Iknow that this was "only" an artificial chicane, but if you force the guy you are passing off the track, there should be some sort of penalty, even if the passed car rejoins.IMHO

    No... not an artificial chicane...

It's a real chicane that's had the obstacles removed for safety. History, man, history!

You are right of course, and I still stand by my comment, if the original chicane was there Alonso would have been a very big pile of crunched carbon!

Just so we can all enjoy the result more fully, a list of the competition beaten into the minor places would be apreciated. Only pay tv get TG here, personally find 5th gear a better program, ie no JC or mullet.

I disagree - I think that FG cant possibly hope to do the cars they review justice in the 22.5 minutes they have. Although they are going to a hour format next season but it will still be less due to commercials.

TG is absolutely brilliant. JC is entertaining and the other two are equally good. Some of the stories they do are really awesome. Particularly when they challenge each other to races ie. car versus plane, train etc.

Go have a look at finalgear(dot)com and you'll see that you can download pretty much all the TG & FG episodes for enjoyment Loads better than waiting for pay-tv IMHO.
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!
