    Default Cheap Gordini

    That got your attention

At first I thought this looked very solid and rust free, until looking further at more photo's. The five speed could be handy for someone. Bit far away though ...

The Aust cars use the top of the fuel tank as the boot floor. That rust is an easy fix here just get an Ozzy fuel tank.

Just noticed this is the electric soft top version. Some fuel injection bits missing.

It's an R1323, so it might have the 365 five-speed. Also the boot floor is the same as the later Australian ADR 27 version, fitted with the fuel flap. Rust is also typical 15/17 of the era :-)

Edited: The US spec R1323 of the era was fitted with the 395 wide-ratio box.

Think that the throttle body casting has just been unbolted.

Sunroof would have been noting the injectors have been removed, so the car is a bit of a pig in the bag. Lots of pulled wiring under the dash, so the electronic brain is also a question mark, if it is actually there.......

Still, it's got the 12G five-speed gearknob, and also a Jaeger clock with a sweep-second hand - for timing 1/4 mile runs, so there is a piece of tattered silver lining in there. Oh, and a nice seemingly un-corroded 17G badge on the back too!

If I was younger, if it was just down the road a bit, say no more than 1000 k's, and under $500Aus. I would still buy it. But the first thing I would do is dump the terrible looking US bumper bars.

Before anyone gets to excited remember it's American spec and the Americans have a way of ruining everything. It's the 365 box and the engines were so chocked up with emission controls our 17TL went harder. Also I believe most of the US spec cars had drum rear brakes too.

I had one given to me once. Probably 20 years ago it had been restored and was in good nic, Also a cabriolet, it was mine free of charge because it was worth nothing over there but once I looked into it and import costs etc I found I'd be paying heaps of money for one that was uglier and not as fast as our TL's

Ah yes, you're correct. A quick google of the injector part number turns up a couple of results. Would have been fitted to some 911s too.
