    Default Gordini Acceleration!

Hi, for Schlitzaugen because of his comment about rear engine rear wheel drive cars, and others.

I've browsed through You Tube and found the video of the Triumph Dolomite that was in front of me with one of our races. If you want you can have a look at them, the first is the view from my seat and the second is the view from the Dolomite's seat of the same race.

Every day when I wake up I reach up in the darkness with my eyes shut and if I cannot feel anything that resembles a wooden lid I know it will be a good day. No lid today.

When I see a R8 Gordini perform like that , I get shivers down my spine!
I've been watching them since the 60's, and still get exited in my 60's.

    Thanks Frans.

I think you said it before, Frans. Nothing takes off like a Gordini.

I can't believe you have to touch the brakes behind the Porsche.

Well, this is what a light, rear engine, RWD car does.

I think Gordini himself would be proud of what you have done with the little beast.

That said, I would be curious to see all the 8Gs you guys have there lined up in a drag race.

That G8 is impressive! What are the acceleration figures/top speed?

    Alexander,

Our series name is ERC (European Racing Cars/Classics) This series is then split in two, the fast and slow. Normally we race seperately but if time doesn't allow it we are grouped together. Obviously the faster group are the front runners and we become a 40+ car grid. Our Race convenor allowed 3 280Z's because they had nowhere to go.

The top 10 from the faster group is:
    1) Escort
    2) Escort
    3) V8 Capri
    4) V8 MG
    5) 280Z Datsun
    6)280Z Datsun
    7) 911 Porsche
    8)V12 Jag
    9) V8 MG
    10) V8 Rover.

Top 10 our group and I am lucky to be in it.
    1)280Z Datsun
    2)280 Mercedes
    3) RS2000 Escort
    4) Alfa Sud
    5)BMW 328
6)Fiat the one that in the previous set of videos
    7) Gordini
    8)Alfa GT Big one 3.2 l
    9)TVR 3000
    10) Alfa 33

JoBo, I don't know because it all depends on how long the straight is but according to rpm and my "big Box" 170+. Acceleration, the car that gave me the best run was a Porsche 956 but I was quicker and 1 st into turn 1.

Far out! I would really like to see the beast on a hill climb.

Great to see Franz with a lot of capable cars behind the Gordini. Well done to get the car up there like this.
