Default Aussiefrog at Bathurst 12 hr

If anyone is at Bathurst for the 12 hr this weekend come and say hi. There will be some very cool cars racing with international teams representing Porsche, Audi, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, BMW etc.

I will be doing a few demonstration laps in a Croup C Sports Prototype from the late 1980ís. A brief run on Friday then two on Saturday, one immediately before the top 10 qualifying.

I expect the run before the top 10 is very likely to be canned if they are behind on the schedule.

The car has a V6 and is similar performance to an Alpine A442.

Some pics from Bathurst Friday and Saturday. We were to be on the telecast immediately before the top 10 shootout to show the prototype sports cars from the 1980ís which evolved into current production based GT Sports Race cars. We were on schedule for international TV despite the number of big crashes until two more went off leaving no time for us.
The pile of grey panels, hubs and broken suspension is all that was left of the 62 Aston Martin Vantage. The other pile of stuff with green paint is all that was left of the other Bentley.

Manufacturers now take this race very seriously. The McLaren boss is here to oversee their effort against other equally serious efforts from Porsche, Aston Martin BMW etc.

Those bits off the crashed Bentley I photographed are now being auctioned off for bushfire relief. They and are already past $20,000.
