Ott Tanak failed to proceed due to problem with the car and was forced to park it 5km from the end of the 1st stage on Saturday morning, leaving Ogier and Neuville to battle for the lead with Evans running third, Loeb in fourth and Rovanpera 5th at the end of stage 5.

Dust has been a problem for some of the drivers.

Rally results

1/ Eflyn Evan - Toyota - Evans key to victory was avoid problems technical/tyre vise. Win puts him in the lead in the drivers championship

2/ Thierry Neuville - Hyundai - had a tyre failure last day

3/ Sebestian Loeb - Toyota - Lost time with a flat tyre

4/ Kalle Rovanpera - Toyota - lost time with a flat tyre on the 6th stage - drove conservatively due to conditions to ensure team points - Saying afterwards that he had never driven a rally this slowly.

5/ Gus Greensmith - Ford

6/ Esapekka Lappi - M-Sport - Had a tyre failure during the rally and his shock absorbers failed on the last stage.


Ogier retired on the last day (engine?)

Suninen (M-Sport) retired on the last morning with damaged rear suspension. Suninen had suffered from dust in the car on the 5th stage.

Tanak retired early in the rally

M ore on tyre problems in Turkey. It appears most instances were caused by rim failure, allowing pressure to escape' leading to tyre failure.

 
Tanak crash in Turkey. He had a problem with the steering
