When I press the brake slightly, I notice that at certain pressures, the front brakes (or one of them) will screech, making a whistling type sound.

Does anyone know what causes this, and how I can get rid of the sound?

Cheers,

Justin

Don't laugh; I'm serious roll_lau
I had a similar thing with my BX 16 valve on a trip to the Gold Coast. It nearly drove me insane. When I got there I then found a quiet road (way out of Town) and concluded it was a small stone trapped in my front nearside brake between the rotor & the pad, so..... I found a park that was vacant, drove on to it, stuck it in reverse, gave it a bootful and stabbed the brake pedal. clown Click, clunk - no more noise :D
May not be your problem but worth looking at.

I had a feeling it was something like a little stone - just came back from a country drive.

Heck, I'll give it a go - if it doesn't work, well that's life. Just sounds like fun!

Cheers,

Justin
