Okay guys here is a brainteaser. I got my head off today. The car is a citroen BxGT. The block has the label "DFZ"(XU9J1 for you peugeot owners) which means it is a fuel injection engine with compression 8.4:1 and when i got the head off i measured the valves and looked around and i am quite sure it has the GT head and cam on it(the GT engine has 9.3:1 compression). I am assuming the change in compression is due to different pistons. Now the question - is there any way to tell which pistons i have. Thanks for any help guys. Here is a close up picture of a piston if that will help? You can see the marking "11" and "C2" this marking is on each piston. The pistons dish inwards (are concave), the picture isn't very clear.
cheers,
dave
