What's wrong with this picture?

Is it evidence of accident repairs or did they just want to change the look?

Asking $14 K. No leather. Clearly somebody doesn't believe that Cits have rapid depreciation.

I prefer the Series 1 XM grille to the Series 2. Something about the jaunty positioning of the chevrons.

But if I had broken the grille panel on mine and all I could get was a S2 one I would put up with it. Or if a S2 one was way cheaper I would put up with it. And if I broke the whole nose panel the price of replacement one would be even more important, those things are like rocking horse dung and ridiculously expensive. It would only take one kangaroo and my place is crawling with them.

Anyway Greg, you have just bought an XM, why go looking at others? Me, I'm waiting 10 years for a C6.

Depreciation

I'm hoping to wait about 12 months.
C5's will drop in price ( I hope!) when the C6 arrives in numbers.
In 5 years a C6 might just be affordable?

I got a link to a Microsoft site. ?????

...ha ha, Mr IT fluncked cut and paste :roflmao:

Hey Craig, what say you... this must be the car they used in Ronin, the one with the revolving front end, series 1 - series 2 - series 1 - series 2 :joker:

Cheers
Chris

AFAIK this car did have a slight bingle & the owner decided to upgrade to the newer grille. Has been on the market for a LONG time in WA. Even though it is quite a good car, I guarantee it will sell from a dealer for around $8k or be auctioned. Watch this space...

BTW Dealer #1271 in WA is a well known Jaguar specialist, begs the question as to what it was traded on???

I have people for cut and paste :nownow: They are now all sacked - mongrels!

Yeah. definitely the Ronin car.

I can see the sense in fitting the best available part at the time though. With that wing, wheels and interior it is definitely a S1. Price is steep though but the car seems in good nick.

Fixed the link - apols, still learning to drive this BB.

I notice that the XM Series 1 at Peter Wright's in Melbourne may have finally moved on. Asking price hovered around $16-17 K for what must have been about two years or more. He must have bought it for next to nothing to justify that length of stock turn.

It's an process of browsing to avoiding post-purchase dissonance!

Not really, I paid $5K for mine - at first inspection it looked like it had been boiled dry in a mix of hay, porridge and sheep dung due to the ideosyncratic personal hygiene of the previous owner. However, he'd spent large sums on maintenance (although he missed the struts and the spheres were either dead or dying and told me some whopping fibs about the car's history). The combo of manual, four cylinders and the creature comforts of the Prestige package were what I was after. A bit of detailing, and I think it looks pretty good.

Series 2 nose cone is a little too Xantia for my taste (nothing wrong with Xantias though). Series 1, despite the asymmetric chevrons, seems more in harmony with the rest of the car.

Ah, THAT place. Our Xantia was traded there on an Alfa and sold at the Proton dealer down the road (well, not sold actually, until we bought it after the price came down!!).

If someone wants one, a hard bargain might just be driven I'd say, after it doesn't sell at that price!!

Cheers
