It's a Renault Spider my dear friend.

Ultra rare and ultra cool. I saw a silver one in Miller St, North Sydney about 3 weeks ago. Who the hell is importing them???

Dutton's in Melbourne imported seven back in 1998. Selling price was in the order of $125K.

yea they look unreal.

bet they go like a shower also.

Love to see one in real life.

I'd say unless you were a real Renault freak, and the main need for the car is driving pleasure, the much cheaper (in AUS anyway) Lotus Elise would be the go. The Elise is (was) much cheaper and also had better performance with much less weight.

The RS Spider does have something in common with a rusty old R10 though, you can see the ground through the floor in both cars!

I've seen them a couple of times. There was one for several weeks in the Perth Renault dealers showroom, private sale.

Most amazing thing is the ratio of width to length. Must be close to one!!

Gorgeous. Lovely to look at. At $125,000, well.........

Awesome car - saw a couple when I was in London. I'd have to agree with Simon though, that a Lotus Elise would be a better buy and probably a nicer drive, if not quite as cool.

Looks like Porsche has a bit of explaining to do regarding the styling of their new V10 Carrera GT.

By the way, xqisid, the Renault Sport Spider came out in 1995 in France - not bad for almost eight years old! The first version had no windscreen, but had a air scoop arrangement that directed air up and over your head. Unfortunately it didn't work too well with rain!

Mmmn, that looks nice :)

How the heck could the same company design the Vel Satis, I have no idea

Thats the car alright, he had O.Z. racing wheels and semi-race rubber on it front and rear skirting and Cobra seats, im making these comprisons the photo you put up.
Thanks guys, AF come through again....
yeah @ 125g's id prefer an elise for less than half, and for a 1/4 id get a Clio sport cup.

I dont think they will be coming out to Australia somehow which again is a shame....great cars..

talking about spending a 1/4 of the price on a clio cup xqisid, the renault spider had the clio william's engine and gearbox. They didnt increase the power either, it has the same as the clio williams - 150bhp. I think that i would throw my lot in with the clio williams. More practical and a mad little beast.
