Really? I love a 504, 505 etc but their engines has never been a highlight for me! If I ever was in the position to build my ideal 505 it'd be an original rust and damage free body, original suspension and nice modern low pressure turbo engine! And an electric DS, yes please! In drag racing they used to have funny cars, a normal sedan body put on a different chassis and engine. That's what a rear drive Peugeot fitted with a different engine is. A mockery of the original design. There have always been people who have changed the engines on Peugeots. None of the cars survive much beyond the original owner. There are replica cars like the MGTD and even a plastic 402DS. They lack any character of the original and are commercial failures. People like modifying old cars and the 203 suffered more than most. Just don't do it to a nice original early example that's worth preserving.
