Top up Adblue 308 T9 Hdi

Great to hear! Suggest before your warranty lapses take your car to an independent Peugeot specialist to have it checked out taking care you go to one familiar with your model, Mine had some teething issues sorted out under warranty but I also had it checked to make sure there weren’t going to be expensive issues in the foreseeable future.

This Adblue episode has been the first proper "issue" in almost three years with the 308 T9. Pleased it was sorted so quickly and without hassle. In all other respects the wagon has been a great vehicle
..good ride , quiet, great grip and economical...and plenty of grunt with the S button pressed:)

Good to hear! One of the other issues I had was the egr valve. Suggested to me to avoid it clogging up is to occasionally find a quiet part of the highway and accelerate it hard (only up to the speed limit of course). There is a nice spot on the M1 outside Sydney where I stop at the bottom of a steep uphill and wait until there is no traffic and ....

Yes. My 2015 T9 308 diesel wagon has had all of the above. Ad blue tank pump failed in 2019 and was quoted around $3k to fix. Peugeot ended up covering the lot for which I was extremely grateful, although the part was subject to a recall so they were aware of the fault. EGR went in Dec driving from Vic to QLD. Peugeot covered 50% of the parts leaving me with the other half + all labour. About $1k all up for me to pay. Not ideal but am grateful that Peugeot so far have listened and tried to help to some extent. Am really hoping this is the last of the big expense problems.

Except for a thermostat problem covered by the dealer's extended warranty and an engine mount that may need replacing soon seems like the dealer might be right that any major issues I was going to have I have had. Watch out for the 90,000km service quoted $1400 by two dealers got mine done by Peugeot specialist for $500 (including changing the ancillary timing belt as required by the service manual although mechanic said didn't need changing). Dealers wanted to also change the pulleys (not mentioned in the service manual but two Peugeot specialists said no need to if not required).

What is the built date for first diesel PSA products landed in Australia with Euro 6 certification. I know this is a big ask but there are some very knowledgeable people lurking around this forum.

Thought Euro 6 came into effect in Europe in 2016. Built date on my car is September 2014 so possibly my car is one of the first PSA Euro 6 cars in Australia.

I reckon you are probably right.
I believe the first 508 with Euro 6 was September 2015. My DS Crossback was early 2016. I believe your (Blind Freddie) was a 308 and a 1.6 l.

After 10 odd with a dirty diesel, we have gone for petrol.
Quite happy not to worry with adblue and those DPF devices that try to clean that dirty diesel.

Never had an issue in 12 years with multiple HDi devices.

First one we filled additive once in 8 years. With over 200K km's on that car the DPF was still 95% functional according to a Diagbox load test.

Second one we've never had to fill, but we did buy it second hand so we don't know if the original owner refilled it. Still no issues with the DPF.

Current third HDi has had a refill of Adblue once, but it never triggered a low warning. Possibly just the dealer 'selling' us some product. This car leaves the exhaust insides so clean you could eat off them.

Wait till your EP6 petrol motor requires decarboning because of the direct injection - you'll be chasing down a second hand HDi in no time ! oh - and new direct injection turbo petrol engines are coming out with particulate filters anyway........

Cheers

Justin

It’s horses for courses.

I do a lot of highway miles, top up the Adblue after every service and prefer how diesels drive and their fuel economy.

I occasionally cane it to keep the EGR and DFP clear.

I don’t think diesels like too much city driving so in that circumstance I would have bought a petrol or electric car. Not sure whether it would have been a Peugeot.
