Third tailgate brake light on 2008 308sw

Hi

My car failed a WoF due to the rear door upper brake light not working. I took it out and found all four bubs had died

Has anyone else had that occur or suggest why all four would fail?

In regards to replacing it appears they are Size 501 W5W 12v 5W wedge?

I would say that you are just unlucky, they may not have all failed together.

Just replace them and move on with life.

Last time I just replaced the bulbs

This time the actual bulb holders in the tail gate light are somewhat fragile i.e. the little metal clips on the bulb holders can break and without securing without tape the bulbs move and fail

Has anyone replaced the actual bulb holders (x 4) themselves in the actual light assembly?

I only replaced the burnt out bulb and didn't notice any wiggle room with the wedge bulbs. Sound like time to replace the holder

Do you know if the holders are replaceable esp. aftermarket?

It would seem the actual bulb holders are not replaceable (at least from Peugeot) and come with part # 6350 EY or part 'A'?

Yes Google 6350 EY they may be available on fleabay but I see there are a few wreckers with the early 308 estates
