Had some visitors to take around the district. I would have liked to take their new Skoda but a quick inspection showed Czech roads must have improved markedly because it had the almost universal low front clearance of modern cars. What better than to take a 203 tour with an open sunroof. I was certainly glad to have the 203 when fording a shallow river we found an unseen hole. Travel on a few agricultural tracks turned up a cross gully or two and a table drain. Comment from the passengers was how comfortable the ride was and how well the 203 coped. Nearly seventy years on the old 203 can still impress and show practicalities that modern designers would do well to remember.
