Here are my D's.... Harrisson_Citroen. What gauges did you fit in your centre console?

From the left.

The "Brun Scarabee" DS23 Auto.
Inside view

The 72 D Special. Just e few days before I bought it.

The same 72 D Special when it arrived in Sydney.

And the 73 D Special rust bucket. Cut it up or restore it... Fate still to be decided!

What are the odds?

The first three pix posted by owners are all Borg Warner automatics! :headbang:

Not very glamorous but here's my girl (the car that is.. not my niece) after our exodus from Adelaide acrosss the plains to central NSW, covered in locust guts!. The interior shot is my goal. mmmmmmmm:):):)

I wouldn't have thought there were all that many autos left out there. Most seem to be manuals.

I also wonder how many road registered DS there are in Australia?

They're Smiths, not Citroen, not even French, but they fit nicely in there and suit the car I think. I hope I don't irritate the Anorak Gods.

Mnm all Dees are glamourous. There is a kind of poetry attached to a DS left in its original condition.
I am restoring mine because I remember these cars when they were new, and I always wanted one.
But I also admire those with "patina".

Michael, she looks gorgeous, must get round to washing the CX properly soon so we can have some competition. You must start to drive it to work more often so we can have the joy of our two paralleling down General Homes Drive.

However on your 4th photograph what is that piece of German engineering doing sitting in the garage. If it were an early '80s S class, maybe but I don't think it is. Someone in your house needs some re-education.

That's true.. but as i was discussing with Richo today, I like a bit a bling, so the patina has to go!:) I posted this pic recently but you can see what a little elbow grease can do.. just don't look too close.

Here's another auto to add to the collection...1974 DS23IE Auto. She's a little rough around the edges but I lover her :citplak:

Hi Greg, Funny you should mention it, I've been watching the weather and thinking it's almost time to go to work in the D.

The MB in the background is my new toy. Its a 1996 coupe. I'm playing on both sides of the fence. ;-)

Great thread !

Am really enjoying the photos - must take some high res ones...

In the mean time, here is my pride and joy

1974 DS 23 Pallas IE 5 speed manual in vert argent (I think the original colour of Boy Racers re-sprayed Norev 1:18 model)

- needs a bit of work but I love driving it

then again you all know what I mean...
