I guess this is an old issue for some - I have a 505 SL wagon, about 1986 or soquiet engine, but a heavy resonance/buzz comes in at around 3,800 rpm in top (3 speed auto) - this does not come in when the machine is still in second and I have heard about a thing called a torque converter lock - is this the trouble, if so, what can I do about it? It is annoying in an otherwise lovely machine. Some of teh US threads suggest that one can change the lockup speed ... ? around 50-52 mph.
On the web there is evidence for a recall from Peugeot for models of this age related to the torque converter lock up.
